Current Involvement
An update on Heart Bridge of the Carolinas. In May, we purchased essential supplies that were shipped to Families Working Together which is our contact in Wanblee, S.D. Supplies were packaged and distributed by their volunteers to members of the reservation.
Currently, there are over 80 cases of COVID-19 on the reservation. We have sent masks to the tribal president's office (Julian Bear Runner) in an effort to help keep members safe.
Due to the current situation with the virus around America, our team members will not be returning this fall but aim to coordinate with Crazy Horse School to distribute school supplies, winter coats, and snow boots throughout the year.
We are assisting with emergency needs for members and organizations on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. For additional information on our current efforts to assist in providing help, please reach out to a Heart Bridge Board Member.

Members of Heart Bridge have been friends to the Oglala Lakota of the Pine Ridge Nation since 2003. Over these years we have developed and strengthened relationships. We have bonded with the families of the Eagle Nest District, Oglala District, Pine Ridge Village, Porcupine District, Whiteclay, NE, and the Lumbee Tribe of Eastern North Carolina.
